Welcome to the Barbed Wire Britain network
Over 2,600 people, nearly all of them asylum seekers, are locked up in detention camps and prisons in Britain, without trial and without time limit and with no automatic right to bail.
The government is building new detention centres with a target capacity of 4000.
The asylum seeking process is arbitrary and punishes innocent refugees not for anything they have done, but in the hope of deterring others from exercising their right under the Geneva Convention to claim asylum in Britain.
The Barbed Wire Britain network wants to stop this shame.

Harmondsworth and Colnbrook IRCs are on the Colnbrook by Pass, Harmondsworth, West Drayton, UB7 0HB - map here.
From Heathrow bus station, take the free U3 bus from Stand 18, to where it turns right off the A4, near the Sheraton Hotel - a 5-minute ride.
Colnbrook is on the A4, just beyond the Sheraton (which looks very similar, but has no razor wire).
